What is yoga therapy?
The International Association of Yoga Therapists defines Yoga therapy as the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups.

Somatic Yoga Therapy, or SomaYoga Therapy, is a comprehensive methodology that blends the following modalities: traditional yogic philosophy, meditation, training the mind, personal development, Ayurveda, pranayama or breath work, a SomaYoga approach to classic asana, therapeutic yoga and neuromuscular re-education.

What can I expect in a session?

Initial Consultations:
Initial consultation sessions are 90-minutes. We will discuss your history, wellness goals, energy maintenance, lifestyle, conditions or injuries, and your reason for pursuing yoga therapy. We will do a postural analysis and note current habitual movement patterns and imbalances. We will observe your breathing function and the condition of your nervous system. Once we’ve captured a multidimensional perspective of your current state, we will explore practices that support you. After the session, you will receive a plan to implement at home.
Follow-up Sessions:
Follow-up sessions are 60-minutes. We will discuss your questions, review what is working and what is not, and track your progress. From there, we will modify your plan for at-home practice.

Consistency is a key to positive outcomes.
